What are your payment options? |
We accept all major credit cards. Arrangements can be made if you wish to pay by Paypal or money order. |
How long does it take to get the results? |
This answer depends on the type of test. Most casework is completed in as little as 2 working days from sample receipt. Other types of casework, such as infidelity cases, may require up to 5 working days for completion. Rush testing options are also available in case results are needed earlier than 2 working days. |
How will I receive my results? |
Endeavor DNA will email your test results when they are complete. If you’d like to receive your results by mail, you may request that option for an additional fee. |
Can my test results be used in court? |
Only our court-admissible testing options can be used in court. Our court-admissible tests employ the use of strict chain-of-custody documentation, impartial sample collection, and stringent testing requirements to ensure the authenticity and validity of our test results. Testing options labeled as “Peace of Mind” are not court-admissible. Learn more about the difference between court-admissible and peace of mind testing by clicking here. |
Are the results confidential? |
Yes. Your results will be held in strictest confidence and made accessible only to you. |
What if I want to test more than one child or alleged parent? |
Additional family members can be included in the tests. Additional charges apply. |
Will you accept profiles from third party laboratories for comparisons against new samples? |
Yes, so long as the tested STR loci provided by the 3rd party laboratory match the STR loci tested by Endeavor DNA. |
How accurate is the paternity test? |
The industry standard to establish paternity has long been 16 STR loci. Endeavor DNA Laboratories tests 22 STR loci to determine paternity, so our tests are extremely accurate. The STR loci we test are designed to meet both CODIS and European testing standards and provide the highest discrimination of any autosomal STR kit. In general, if the alleged father shares alleles with the tested child at all tested markers, then the probability of paternity will be at least 99.9%. If the alleged father and the child do not share the same genetic markers, he will be excluded as the father with a 100% probability. |
Does the mother have to be tested as well? |
Only for cases involving fetal demise. For all other casework, the mother does not have to be included. However, including the mother is ideal and will provide more conclusive results. In any event, for casework other than fetal demise, testing can still be performed without the mother, and in most cases accurate results are still achievable. |
Peace of Mind vs. Court Admissible |
Court-Admissible (Legal) test results are required for clients who need to establish biological relatedness for child support, child custody, birth certificates, probate, or other legal purposes. Court-Admissible relationship tests requires that all tested parties have their DNA samples collected by an unrelated third party with no interest in the testing outcome. Collectors can be medical professionals, attorneys, pastors, etc. Court-Admissible tests also require strict chain-of-custody be maintained throughout the sample collection and testing process. Peace of Mind tests do not require impartial, unrelated sample collectors or strict chain-of-custody. Sample collections for informational tests can be performed in the comfort of your own home. If your testing needs are for personal knowledge and isn’t needed for any legal purpose, then an informational test is right for you. NOTE: Please visit our UK website if you are looking for a Ministry of Justice accredited test. |
